My take on the Mass Effect 3 ending. (SOME SPOILERS)

As some will know, the Mass Effect 3 ending is very controversial and some gamers even want a different ending. In my opinion, I think the real ending that Bioware was hoping to give flew over many gamer's heads. In the ending, there is a choice of three things you can do to the Reapers (bad guys), and this choice is like choosing to get shot in the head, stomach, or balls. There isn't a happy ending to this story, except if you believe in this "Indoctrination Theory" going around the internet. Supposedly, Shepherd was indoctrinated by the Reapers the whole time throughout the game. There are even certain events where it does seem strange. In the perfect ending (which I had), I chose to destroy the Reapers and somehow I woke up after Harbinger struck me down. In all of the other endings, Shepherd dies. This is a very confusing post if you haven't played the game. If you want a whole article about this theory, look no further but here.

Rockstar's Latest.

May is a big month for gaming since Rockstar's latest game is coming out, Max Payne 3. If people haven't heard of this series, get out of your hole. This game is known for action and adventure, there is even a movie based off the game (sucks though with Marky Mark). But it is known for this thing called Bullet time, where Max throws himself in the air in slow motion dodging bullets while sending his towards his enemies. The latest update from the game is that Max is now old and washed up, but still kicking. If he is shot in a certain place, the gamer will be able to see this effect on Max's body. Perhaps a limp or maybe it will be harder to aim. It is nice to see games are actually getting more realistic, who can take 10's of bullets and still walk around all fine and clean? Max will walk around bloody and like he got his ass kicked, which I love!

Oddfellows

This week, on March 14th, my band and I are going to Austin, Texas for the SXSW festival and we are playing at two places in one day. The first place is called Maria Maria and is a restaurant owned by Carlos Santana. The other place is called Shiner's Saloon, and we will be playing this show at 11:00 PM so we hope that brings in a crowd. All day long before the shows and between them, we will be handing out CD's left and right to anyone who will take them, and let them know about the shows coming up. This journey will be a strange one but needed, since this will be a first show out of state, and this means not seeing familiar faces. Hopefully this will be good since the best advice a band can get is from people they don't even know. That's when the band knows that their music is actually getting somewhere. The band as well as myself really hope this opportunity doesn't fall through, we are hungry at this point.

Hardcore Enemies.

I know my last post was about the upcoming game Mass Effect 3, but as time gets closer to the release day, videos have been release showing some special stuff. In this video right here, it shows many new enemies, guns, and amazing cinematic screens. There are also a lot of spoilers so this is my warning right here. The Reapers seem to be working on new enemies, such as a new husk called a Banshee, which is an Asari. There is also a peak at a half krogan/half turian scion in this video as well. It seems as if your Commander Shepard will be having a tough time in the new upcoming game Mass Effect 3.

Big day for gaming.

March is a big month for gaming, and it's for one reason, Mass Effect 3. It is the end of a franchise (maybe) and an end to my favorite games of all time. IGN ranked Mass Effect 2 the best game for the Xbox 360 and I totally agree with this. These games bring something totally different to the table, as if the gamer is creating the story on the run. Your actions have a serious reaction depending on the choices you make throughout the game. All the saves and choices you made in Mass Effect 1 will carry onto Mass Effect 2, so if someone died in the first one, they will not be in the second one. I really cannot wait for Mass Effect 3 to see if all the choices I made throughout the first two games were actually worth it. March 3 will be a nerdy day for me.

Rumors of the new Xbox

Hey there, as this is my first blog I would first like to say I am a student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Majoring in Computer Science with a focus at video game design and development. As I love video games just as much as the other person, lots of rumors have been flying around about the new Xbox 720, Loop, or whatever it may be called. New information has come out that this new device will have six times the power as the 360 and hold a Radeon HD 6670, a very powerful chip indeed. Another rumor came out recently that this console will have Blu-Ray as I think it should have had for the 360. But the most concerning rumor of all is that Microsoft might put a restriction so that if a user wants to play a used game, then it will not play. In my opinion, this is a huge downfall and would throw crap on some lifelong fans. Games are expensive nowadays and most of the time, they aren't worth the $60 we give up. If Microsoft does put this restriction in, then it shows that they are a power hungry greedy company, they should listen to the fans foremost and show that they are a company who listens.
